Bringing Characters and Campaigns to Life
This section features custom illustrations commissioned by Dungeons & Dragons players and Dungeon Masters. Each piece was created based on client-provided lore, character backstories, and world-building prompts. These projects gave me the opportunity to flex my storytelling and visual interpretation skills while working collaboratively with passionate tabletop gamers.

Client Notes:
Create a detailed illustration of the interior of a snowy mountain shack, focusing on a grisly crime scene. The room should reflect the chaotic aftermath of a violent struggle; featuring a destroyed workbench, scattered tools, blood trail, and a headless body of a gunsmith. Lighting was suggested from natural and artificial sources (sunlight, torches, lanterns). The style could range from frontal to isometric or bird’s-eye view.

Development
My Focus:
I aimed to capture the gritty narrative tension of the scene by emphasizing environmental storytelling; highlighting the broken furniture, bloodied surfaces, and disarrayed workshop elements to suggest a sudden, brutal attack. I balanced the eerie stillness with warm directional lighting to contrast the violence with investigative presence, helping guide the viewer's eye through key story details.

Hermit - Commission for Guan, 2023
What I Learned:
Working on these commissions sharpened my ability to take loose, imaginative prompts and turn them into grounded, engaging illustrations. It taught me how to ask the right questions, communicate closely with clients, and deliver visuals that feel deeply personal to their stories. I grew more confident with anatomy, mood-setting through lighting, and designing with clarity and drama in mind.
